Newlyweds!!! May 29, 2010

As of May 29, 2010, Jake and I are married. I'm so excited to be married to this wonderful man and I'm looking forward to starting the next chapter of our life together.

Our wedding was absolutely fabulous, despite having to change venue at the last moment. But, as we both say "everything happens for a reason", and even though it never rained a drop on Saturday, it was hot and humid, which would've made me absolutely miserable if we would've been outside the whole time. Instead, with the change of venue, people could be outside on the patio, but we were able to be inside in the air conditioning for the ceremony and reception.

We had 100 of the most wonderful family and friends present to witness our marriage and then to celebrate afterwards (and all weekend). Jake's Dad and my step-dad, Rick, performed our ceremony; my sister was my MOH; Jake's sister and daughter were my bridesmaids; Jake's cousin Suki was our flower girl; Jake's best friend was his Best Man; his brother and my brother were the groomsmen; and my nephew Vincent was the ring bearer. It was wonderful to have everyone together, on both sides of our families, and it seems like our families are happy to be joined together by our marriage.

We haven't gone on a honeymoon yet, but are planning to get away this summer and then take a "honeymoon" next winter in the offseason, just about the time that Jake is ready to have a break from teaching and we're tired of winter. :-)
